Works-for-me Wednesday

Is it Wednesday already? Wow! We have "sprung forward" indeed!

Today's WFMW is a deep, life-changing bit o' wisdom, to be sure.

Lip gloss. Chapstick. Lipstick. A combination of all three. I have this sort of "trifecta" going on at any given moment. For me, it started with Bonne Bell Dr. Pepper flavored lip gloss in sixth grade and has been a habit ever since! I picked up something a few weeks ago that I really like: Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer.

It's not as heavy as lipstick, is shiny like lip gloss, but functions like chapstick. It's great for days when I need a bit of color but don't want to look too "made up." I happened to pick a tube of it up at the checkout counter at Books-a-Million (because, well, don't we all go to the bookstore to buy lip gloss??) and I've been really pleased with it. It's pepperminty and tingly when you put it on, and it's got just enough color. I hadn't really thought about it until I looked it up on Amazon and read a review, but another bonus is that it is all natural. (Which, since you ingest what is on your lips, is a good thing!)

And, it's about $4.00. Works for me!

For more tips, visit Rocks In My Dryer. Have a beautiful shade of Wednesday!

You have brought back a flood of memories with Bonne Bell Dr. Pepper flavored lip gloss. It was my favorite!

I have looked at those a million times at BAM, but never have actually bought one. I'm a lip gloss/chapstick kind of girl. No color. So I've been a little apprehensive about trying those! I may just have to give them a shot! What's your favorite shade?

Hi Cyndi - I use Burt's Bee lip gloss and chap stick too!!! I was a little surprised at the "tingle" - but I've gotten used to it. I do like it and the fact that it's natural. Works for me too!!

I use Burt's Bees, too! I have two of their colors, and I also like Savannah Bee Beeswax Lip Tint from Bath and Body Works. It's similar, but not as sparkly as the Burt's Bees.

I wear one or the other almost every day!

I have a couple of sister in laws that love this, but I have yet to try it...now I'm just about convinced I should go get me some! :) I love that it's all natural! Thanks for the great recommendation, Cyndi!
(I did a WFMW late today, too...) :)

Hi Cyndi

Great tip - pity I'm in SA because that is just right for me and I always battle to find smething that is not too heavy but not too glossy.

I must remember when eventually we get to the US.

We like this at our house too and I bought mine at BAM as well! The 'natural' part is a big plus for me and the slight color!
