God's Site Meter

Here are some questions I've been asking myself this week:

  • If the Bible were a blog, would you be on God's site meter today?
  • Would His site meter show that you were reading early in the morning? (first thing)
  • Would it show multiple page loads?
  • How many minutes of reading would it show?
  • Do you read the posts, or just the comments? (His Word vs. books about His Word.)
  • Are others who show up on His site meter showing you as the referring site? (In other words, are you linking others to His Word?)
  • Would His site meter show just one brief check each day, or would it show that you refer to His Word multiple times throughout the day?
  • Do you just lurk or actively comment (pray) as you read?
  • Do the amount of times you show up on His site meter reflect a hunger for His Word?

God doesn't need a site meter, of course. He knows. And He doesn't need to know I've been reading His Word as some sort of "ego boost" for Himself. I need what He has to say more than anyone needs what I have to say. And although His Word is complete and unchanging, His Word is very much alive, active, and applicable to my ever-changing circumstances. In that sense there are "new posts" daily, and they are a lifeline like no other. He is the Ultimate Blogger.

Let's spike God's site meter today!

Cyndi: What a creative post to ask tough questions. Excellent way to present truths and provoke some thought we could all relate to!

Mind if I link to it sometime next week?

Very Good Cyndi! I may copy this and put it in my file. For those who blog what a beautiful picture you have given us.
I may have to come back and read this several times!

Cyndi - you are a wonderfully inspiring woman of God :) - I am so blessed that I have 'met' you.

I think I can make a check-mark at every question you have asked. At least I hope that I link others to His Word...

I use to think that going to church every Sunday, be in a Bible study is enough to know God's Word. But it is not! In a Bible study you get 'pre-chewed' thoughts, reading the Bible is totally different. You can think for yourself....
I think I have a post brewing in my head for next week's IOW :)...

Blessings on your weekend and always.

I can't decide which post I like better - this one or yesterday's. They are both excellent.
I feel very convicted reading this one. I am spending far too much time bloggin, and I can't seem to get it whittled down. I don't want to leave anyone out and as a result spend way too much time sitting here in front of the computer. I really do have to think this through and get a better system.
Thanks so much for this Cyndi.

I just recently got rid of my site meter because it put my focus off of the purpose for my blog- encouraging others in their faith. This was a GREAT post, thanks for pointing us in the right direction!

Hey Cyndi, I'm visiting from Iris's today, and I agree...this is a very blogger-appropriate way to think about our time in the Word. It made me smile...:)
