Some Pictures From Our Week

I had tears in my eyes as I read some of the comments y'all left on my last post. I love how the qualities I described struck such a chord with so many of us, and that it brought so many of your own sweet grandmothers to mind. Since I was posting from her computer, I didn't have pictures loaded. I think it's kind of appropriate that my last post didn't have a picture with it, since the "picture" I wanted to paint was of her character qualities, not her physical features. But, since I always like to see a picture of who I'm reading about, here she is:

Her sweet friend came over to practice with her for their weekly "gig" at the Senior Center. They invited my daughter to play along with them as they practiced, and it was a precious sight to me. The violin fiddle Grandmother is playing was brought back from Japan by my grandad when he was there during WWII. She has learned some notes on it and can play a few hymns, and she harmonizes with her friend Clara as she plays "lead guitar" (Clara has played for years.) They are a great team!

She can pick out hymns on the piano as well, and was playing a duet (of sorts) with my son in this photo. He was playing "Mary Had A Little Lamb" and she was playing her version of it- "Rabbit Ain't Got No Tail At All".

I'm back to laundry, school books and life. (Most of all, back to my cute husband and my little dog!) I can't wait to spend some time this afternoon catching up on everyone's blogs that I've missed this week. I want to know what y'all have been up to!
